Major Hurricane Headed To US Could Have Impact In Northeast Hurricane Ida, just upgraded from tropical storm status, is expected to make landfall in the United States as a major Category 3 or 4 hurricane on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans and much of the Gulf Coast.
