New Milford Student Wins National Courtroom Sketch Artist Competition NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Sarah Almeda, a New Milford High School senior, won the national title at the Courtroom Artist Student Competition this weekend in Boise, Idaho. It was the first year the New Jersey State Bar had its Mock Trial Courtroom Art program, for high-school students. Almeda was the gold-medal winner there, and she replicated her success at the national competition, as well. A Tuesday Facebook post from the high school both congratulated Almeda and thanked her art teacher, Ms. Bettini, for her support as well.

Sign Up For Gridiron State Football Camp In Hasbrouck Heights HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Gridiron State Football Camp is from July 11-14 this year, and registration is now open. The camp is for 7- to 14-year-olds. "Our experienced coaching staff works closely with every player to provide position-specific instruction to master the basic fundamentals and proper techniques to athletes of all ability levels in an environment that is both fun and safe," Gridiron's website notes. Glen Rock Athletic Club Renovates Outdoor Patio GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- The Glen Rock Athletic Club is doing some major renovation work on its outdoor patio and lawn area. The project will remove all the existing asphalt and lawn; grade and level the area; sod it; and install a paver patio, pergolas, fire pit, a bocce court and new outdoor furniture. The goal of the project is to make the Athletic Club even more of destination for Glen Rock residents. Bike Racing Season Opens On The Rockleigh Mile May 26 ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- The Rockleigh Criterium Association announces that its 2016 racing season will kick off on Thursday, May 26.A criterium is a bicycle race of a specified number of laps on a closed course over public roads closed to normal traffic. The first series is on Thursdays, May 26, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Folks can register in advance for the whole series, for $125, or the day of single races, for $25 a race.
