Arnold Aaron, 86, Former Spring Valley Resident
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- Arnold Aaron -- a Boca Raton, Florida, resident, formerly of Spring Valley -- died on Thursday, March 10. He was 86. Born in Brooklyn, Aaron graduated from NYU and Ohio State University. He was a "world-renowned expert and lecturer on history and use of gold in dental industry," according to the death notice in the New York Times. Aaron was a past president of the Jewish Community Center of Spring Valley, and chairman of Israel Bonds and UJA of Rockland County. He loved his family, friends, books and big band music. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Teresa Pires Paulo, of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, March 9. She was 84. Born in Portugal, Paulo "was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own," according to information from the funeral home. Wilton's Old Highway Road Will Be Closed Monday For Utility Work
WILTON, Conn. -- On Monday March 14, Old Highway Road will be closed to through traffic between Powder Horn Hill Road and Sharp Hill Road, due to utility work in the area. This road closure will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. -- so will not affect the morning school bus commute. Old Highway Road will reopen at approximately 2 p.m., to facilitate the afternoon school bus drop-offs, but it will re-close at 4 p.m., until the job's completed. The work is anticipated to be done about 6 p.m. Make your travel plans with this in mind.

Greenwich Stars Basketball Win Trophies
GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Stars just won the third-grade boys and seventh-grade Boys Zero Gravity Winter Travel Basketball Championships. The Zero Gravity Championships are for the top youth basketball teams in Fairfield, New Haven, Westchester and Rockland counties. The Greenwich Stars third-grade boys team went undefeated for the season (16-0). The Greenwich Stars are the only organization to win two Zero Gravity Boys Basketball Championships, a new release noted. PSE&G Begins Waldwick Roadwork Monday Morning
WALDWICK, N.J. -- PSE&G will begin underground construction on the PSE&G and public rights-of-way in Waldwick bright and early on Monday, March 14.The construction is part of the utility's transmission upgrade initiative, to ensure reliable electric service in the Borough of Waldwick, as well as surrounding communities. Underground construction activities are expected to begin on Monday and finished in May. Work will run from approximately 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, as well as some Saturdays. MIDLAND PARK, N.J. -- The Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps recently honored three men who have served for five years. Bryan VanCleve, Joe Rector and Matt Bovino were given certificates to note their years of service. Van Cleve is a former football player at Midland Park High School. The Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps was formed 1942. It's located at 471 Godwin Ave., in Midland Park. HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Edward Iozzia, of Hackensack, died on Saturday, March 12. He was 67.Iozzia graduated cum laude with honors from New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce, with a degree in accounting.
