Police ID Chelmsford Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree A 61-year-old Chelmsford man was killed this week after his vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said.  Ronald Wetmore was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that was driving down Westford Street around 11 p.m. on Monday, June 9, Chelmsford police said.  It's unclear why, but he left the road near 160 Westford Street and hit the tree. There were no passengers in the truck with him.  Paramedics rushed him to Lowell General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.  The crash remains under investigation.
