70-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Merrick Commons Parking Lot: Homicide Squad A 70-year-old man was found dead inside a parked van in Merrick, authorities announced on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 5:34 p.m. Officers responded to the rear parking lot of the Merrick Commons at 1630 Merrick Road, where they found the man inside a 2004 Ford Econoline Van, according to Nassau County detectives. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination, police said.
