Man Stopped On Equipment Violation Charged With DWI In Southeast SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Brewster barracks charged a Connecticut man with aggravated driving while intoxicated in Southeast on Sunday, according to officials.  Marshall L. Mullen Jr., 31, of Waterbury, was pulled over on an equipment violation, police said.  A breath test that revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent., more than twice the legal limit. He is scheduled to appear in Southeast Town Court on Feb. 17, police said.

Feds: Bolts Too Weak On New Metro-North M-8 Train Cars In Connecticut FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A new federal report into the Metro-North train derailment in Bridgeport in 2013 says the bolts on the new M-8 passenger cars are too weak, according to the Hartford Courant.  The report by the National Transportation Safety Board says that although the integrity of the bolts was not the direct cause of the derailment, they contributed to the severity of the incident when a portion of one train car sliced into another, the Courant said.  The NTSB is now recommending that Metro-North replace thousands of bolts on the 400 M-8 train cars that operate on the New H…
