Mark White, 47, was found guilty by a Hartford jury in March for the 2008 shooting of 25-year-old Jumar Joiner, the State Division of Criminal Justice announced. Pedestrian Hospitalized After Car Strike In Vernon; Police Investigating Crash A 29-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a car Tuesday night, June 10, in Vernon, according to police. Officers responded to the area of 1270 Hartford Turnpike shortly before 8:45 p.m. and found the man lying in the roadway with severe injuries, authorities said. Emergency crews transported him to Hartford Hospital, where he was treated and later released Wednesday morning, Vernon police said. Woman Was Intoxicated When She Crashed Into State Trooper In Chicopee, Sped Away: DA A 32-year-old woman accused of seriously injuring a Massachusetts State trooper when she crashed into him on I-90 and drove off was intoxicated at the time of the crash, authorities said.  Naisha Rodriguez, 32, of Springfield, faces multiple charges following the early morning crash on Tuesday, June 10, in the westbound lanes in Chicopee, the Hampden District Attorney said.  The trooper was performing a traffic stop around 2:20 a.m. Exit 51 in Chicopee when a car slammed into them. Police ID Chelmsford Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree A 61-year-old Chelmsford man was killed this week after his vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said.  Ronald Wetmore was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that was driving down Westford Street around 11 p.m. on Monday, June 9, Chelmsford police said.  It's unclear why, but he left the road near 160 Westford Street and hit the tree. There were no passengers in the truck with him.  Paramedics rushed him to Lowell General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.  The crash remains under investigation.
