Investigation Continues Into Ridgefield Shooting That Led To Drug Discovery RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Police are continuing to investigate the shooting of a 15-year-old girl on Hulda Lane in Ridgefield last month that led to the discovery of a large amount of marijuana and other drugs in a home that she was attempting to steal a car from, according to the Ridgefield Press. On June 5, police responded to the home on Hulda Lane when a homeowner reported that a group of teens had tried to steal his car, according to the Ridgefield Press. Stamford Driver Tries To Flee Norwalk Police, Gets Arrested NORWALK, Conn. — A Stamford man tried to escape police in Norwalk after they tried to pull him over on Monday, but didn't make it very far and was arrested with large amounts of cash, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that officers tried to pull over 36-year-old Emanuel Tyson near the intersection of Water Street and Raymond Street after observing suspicious activity. Tyson did not stop his car, but instead kept driving onto the nearby Stroffolino Bridge, the Hour reported. Independence Day Provides Plenty Of 'Fire Work' For Brookfield Firefighters BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- While most people in Brookfield probably spent the Fourth of July enjoying fireworks, the members of the Brookfield Fire Department spent it dealing with working fires. The firefighters had a very busy Independence Day, with several incidents throughout the day that included a brush fire on Dingle Brook Road, two emergencies on Candlewood Lake, and a fire on Stony Brook Road.

Bridgeport Hires New Airport Manager For Sikorsky Airport In Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. — A new airport manager has been selected for the Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post. Shelton resident Michelle Muoio has been selected as the new manager for the airport, which is owned by the city of Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post. Norwalk Police Welcome Two New Officers NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department welcomed two new members to its ranks last week. Officer Stephanie Howard and Officer Ralph DeVito were both sworn in by Mayor Harry Rilling at City Hall on Thursday, June 29. Both officers will begin the police academy in July.

Monroe Police Welcome New K-9 To The Force MONROE, Conn. -- The Monroe Police Department welcomed the newest member to its ranks recently when K-9 Riggs joined the force. Riggs just finished two months of training and came out first in his class. He will be working with his handler and partner Officer Jeffrey Loomis.

Burglar Strikes Dewart Road Home In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. — Someone broke into a home on Dewart Road in Greenwich this weekend, according to Greenwich Time. Police told Greenwich Time that a resident returned home at around 11 p.m. Saturday and discovered that someone had ransacked her house. Numerous belongings were stolen, and there was no sign of forced entry, according to Greenwich Time. Police are currently investigating, Greenwich Time said. Passenger Agrees To Make Restitution To Uber Driver After Dispute In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- An Uber driver and his passenger offered different accounts to police after getting into a dispute on Tokeneke Road in Darien on Saturday night that left the Uber driver's car damaged. Officers were dispatched to the area of 225 Tokeneke Road just before midnight Saturday after the Uber driver called the police.
