Wyckoff Honors Firefighters, Veterans At Memorial Day Services
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Wyckoff will commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, with several events to honor those who do serve and have served the country, "especially those who gave their lives to ensure our freedom," the township notes.
The Firefighters Memorial Service is at 9 a.m., at Firehouse No. 1, directly behind Town Hall. The Veteran's Memorial Service will begin at 10 a.m., on the lawn of the Wyckoff Reformed Church on Wyckoff Avenue, which is the site of the township's war memorial.

Giuseppe Marchesani, 94, Ship Bottom Resident
PARAMUS, N.J. -- Giuseppe Marchesani -- a Ship Bottom resident, formerly of Union City -- died on Tuesday, May 24. He was 94.
Before retiring, Marchesani worked for Hudson Printing, in Jersey City, as a printer.
He is survived by his husband of 67 years, Anna (Ruzzi) Marchesani; sons Vincent Marchesani of Saddle Brook and Robert Marchesani of Mount Laurel; grandchildren Darren, Daniel, Janelle and Jake Marchesani; and siblings Jean DiClemente, Cesare Marchesani and Felicia Marchesani.
Marchesani was predeceased by his sister, Anna Reale.

Maria F. Fedele, 80, Cliffside Park Resident
CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- Maria F. (Parisi) Fedele, of Cliffside Park, died on Wednesday, May 25. She was 80.
Born in Italy, Fedele came to the United States in 1958. She was a homemaker and worked for a knitting mill company in Fairview.
She is survived by her children, Domenica "Mickie" DeFilippis and her husband Angelo, and John Fedele and his wife Cathy; grandchildren Angelo, John Paul, Emily and John; sister Concetta Scarfone; and many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Australia.
Fedele was predeceased by her husband, Giovanni, and her brother, Vincenzo Parisi.

CARLSTADT, N.J. -- Elizabeth "Betty" (Bobacher) Sass, a lifelong resident of Carlstadt, died on Wednesday, May 25. She was 89.
Sass was a homemaker and loved to cook, bake, knit, crochet and sew. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carlstadt, where she was a deacon, elder, clerk of session, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Women's Association, Ladies Aid Society and the choir.
