Palisades Park Korean Parents Group Host Children's Day Festival
PALISADES PARK, N.J. --The Palisades Park Korean Parents Group is bringing the free Children's Day Festival to the Lindbergh Elementary School Field on Friday, May 27.
The festival includes taekwondo demonstrations, Korean dance and music performances, a raffle, a free lunch for children, music, games, and other activities. Refreshments -- including ice cream, drinks and cotton candy -- will be available for sale.
Proceeds from the refreshments and raffle will benefit the Palisades Park School Scholarship Fund.

Josephine 'Jo' Carbonaro, 90, Former Montvale Resident
MONTVALE, N.J. -- Josephine "Jo" Carbonaro, formerly of Montvale, died on Friday, May 20. She was 90.
She is survived by her children, Jeannie and Sal, and her grandchildren, Marc, Cindy and Casie. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Mauro "Marty" Carbonaro.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, in the Chapel at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd., in Airmont, New York. Robert Spearing Funeral Home, in Park Ridge, is assisting with arrangements.
Luis N. Abril, 53, Little Ferry Resident
LITTLE FERRY, N.J. -- Luis N. Abril, of Little Ferry, died on Monday, May 23. He was 53.
Born in Ecuador, Abril came to this country in 1986, and he lived in Little Ferry for 22 years. He was an alarm technician for Babaco Alarms of Moonachie. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church of Hackensack.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ana Robles Abril; children Gisele, Christian and Tania; granddaughter Allisson; and siblings Clara, Martha, Agusto, Edgar, Manuel, Piedad, Angel, Rodrigo, Alicia and Jorge.
Abril was predeceased by his brother, Ivan.

Fannie B. Topich, 92, Allendale Resident
ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Fannie B. Topich -- an Allendale resident, formerly of North Bergen -- died on Tuesday, May 24. She was 92.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Saul; grandchildren Christopher Henning and his wife Amy, and Brian Saul and his wife Michelle; and great-grandchildren Avery, Elle and Reid Henning, and Colin and Alexander Saul.
Topich was predeceased by her husband, George.
