: Paramus Parents Help Prep For 'The Little Mermaid'
PARAMUS, N.J. -- The Paramus Scholarship Show Fund is now under way with its production of "The Little Mermaid," with help from Paramus adults. The Fund has a goal this year of $40,000, to distribution this June to Paramus seniors. The scholarships are open to students, whether or not they attend public or private high schools. Since starting its shows over 50 years ago, the fund has provided over $1.4 million in scholarships. The photos show only one crew that is contributing to the production. Children Read To Therapy Dog At West Milford Library
WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Kids are welcome to come read to Rocky at the R.U.F.F. program, at the April sessions at the West Milford Township Library, on the 18th and 25th. R.U.F.F. stands for "Reading Uniquely for Fundamentals." Children can read to a therapy dog and gain confidence and reading fluency, in a relaxed setting. Irvington Middle School Sixth-Graders Sculpt Clay Banks
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Irvington Middle School sixth-graders in Patrick DiBenedetto's art class recently created bank sculptures out of clay as part of a lesson on 3-D design. The students sketched their ideas, made written notes and printed out pictures to use as a reference before sculpting their projects. "After they sculpted the clay into a hollow container, they created a coin slot and coin release space to add functionality," DiBenedetto said. Ringwood Serves Up Youth Volleyball Registration
RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Registration has begun for Ringwood Parks, Recreation & Events Department youth volleyball, for boys and girls in sixth through eighth grades. "Register now to claim your spot," the Rec Department notes. Registration is limited: do so here. The program is free and open to youth from Ringwood, Wanaque and Haskell.
