Shirley Ruth Rosenfeld, 90, Former Airmont Resident
AIRMONT, N.Y. -- Shirley Ruth Rosenfeld -- a Monroe, New York, resident, formerly of Airmont -- died on Monday, Feb. 22. She was 90. Services were held Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, at Hellman Memorial Chapels, in Spring Valley, with Rabbi Pesach Burston officiating. Interment was to follow at Montefiore Cemetery, in Laurelton.

Washington Township Scouts Urge Residents 'Unplug For A Day'
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Washington Township's Girl Scout Junior Troop No. 4701 are urging fellow citizens to "Unplug for a Day," on Friday, March 4. The Troop is working toward its Bronze Award, and this a community event aims to get township residents to abandon their cell phones, computers and tablets for one day. The troop's goal is to get as many people as possible to "disconnect to reconnect with family and friends." The event will run from 6 p.m. on March 4 until 6 p.m. on March 5.

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Nicholena "Nicky" B. Patafio, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died on Monday, Feb. 22. She was 78. Patafio was raised and educated in Port Chester, and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1955. She was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church.
