Born in Brooklyn, Lang graduated from of Eastern District High School. Later, her family relocated to Suffern in 1972. She worked as a secretary for the Metropolitan Vacuum Company in Suffern for several years. Lang was then an administrative assistant in the Supervisor's office at the Town of Ramapo for 25 years, until she retired in 2006. After she retired, she volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital.
