Lawrence L. Berglas, 90, Scarsdale Resident SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Lawrence L. Berglas, of Scarsdale, died on Thursday, Feb. 11. He was 90. Born in Germany and educated in Germany, Holland, England and Ireland, Berglas served with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Italy and was honorably discharged in June, 1947. He graduated from Fordham University summa cum laude with a B.S. education degree, from NYU with a M.A. in administration and from Fordham Law. Berglas was admitted to practice in 1958. Hugh DeMartino, 90, Former Yorktown Heights Resident YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Hugo Albert DeMartino -- most recently of Ballston Lake and Venice, Forida, but a former resident of Yorktown Heights -- died on Thursday, Feb. 11. He was 90.When DeMartino was 3, he emigrated from Italy to Yonkers with his parents. The family eventually landed in Hastings. He became a U.S. citizen and served in the 91st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, earning a Purple Heart.
