Janet Pinkney, 79, Longtime Wyckoff Resident
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Janet Pinkney, a longtime resident of Wyckoff, died on Wednesday, Feb. 10. She was 79.
Born in Paterson, Pinkney graduated from New York University with a master's degree in education. Before she retired, she was a library technician with the Johnson Public Library, in Hackensack. She worked there for 31 years.
She is a former member of Christ Church, in Hackensack.
Pinkney is survived by her longtime friends and caregivers, Susan and Robert Wiuff of Wyckoff.

Norma Vreeland-Albright, 93, Former Longtime Fair Lawn Resident
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Norma (Van Nimwegen) Vreeland-Albright -- of Estero, Florida, formerly a longtime Fair Lawn resident -- died on Sunday, Feb. 7. She was 93.
Born in Paterson, Vreeland-Albright lived in Fair Lawn for most of her life, before moving to Florida 27 years ago. She "will be remembered for her happy and loving nature," according to obituary information from the Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Ciaurro and Robert Vreeland; sister Joan DePrima; and six grandchildren.

Rose Emelo, 99, Hackensack Resident
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack resident Rose (DiBona) Emelo died on Wednesday, Feb. 11. She was 99.
Emelo was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Hackensack.
She is survived by her children, John Emelo and his wife Kathleen, and Mary Tiencken and her partner Harold Jeppson; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Emelo was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, and her brother, Salvatore DiBona.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Kevin J. Makely Sr., of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Wednesday, Feb. 10. He was 61.
Born in Jersey City, Makely was a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office in Jersey City and a member of the Mail Handlers Union. He was also a crossing guard for the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department.
He was a former coach for the Little League and a former Boy Scout Leader in Hasbrouck Heights.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Longtime Bergenfield resident Evelyn A. (Kenney) Fortsch died on Tuesday, Feb. 9. She was 95.
Born in Brooklyn, Fortsch was a retired salesperson for the Florence Shop men's department, in Bergenfield, after working there for 26 years.
She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of both the Rosary Society and the St. John's Golden Age Club. Fortsch was also a volunteer at the Actor's Home, in Englewood.

James S. Zadroga, 86, New Milford Resident
NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- James S. Zadroga, of New Milford, died on Wednesday, Feb. 10. He was 86. Zadroga was a sergeant in the Army Air Force, proudly serving his country during World War II. He was a machinist at Bendix Corp., in Teterboro, and Nabisco Brands, in Fair Lawn.
He was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council No. 3814, in New Milford. Zadroga also coached high school soccer and baseball in New Milford, was a member of the New Milford Boosters, and was very active with former New Jersey Governor Christine Whitman, in the Green Acres Program.
