State Awards $2.2M For Microgrid Project At University Of Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The State Bond Commission approved nearly $2.2 million for the creation of a microgrid project at the University of Bridgeport that will help keep critical buildings and facilities powered even when the electric grid goes down, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Friday. Power will be provided to buildings on campus, including a dining hall, recreation center, student center, police station and two residence halls.   The microgrid will be powered by a 1.4 megawatt fuel cell.
