Anthony 'Tony' Nunzio Damico, 85, Poughkeepsie Resident POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie resident Anthony "Tony" Nunzio Damico died on Monday, Feb. 29. He was 85. Damico dedicated his life to his love for the outdoors, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He participated in his 73rd opening day last April, and he regularly enjoyed trips to Salmon River and Lake Ontario. Damico was especially known for "his innate ability to find edible wild mushrooms, resulting in finds as large as 110 pounds," information from the funeral home noted, "and the creation of his famous hot peppers and mushrooms dish."
