A U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Pacific during World War II, Conboy belonged to the Disabled Veterans. He was employed by the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier for 35 years and was a member of NALC BR32. Conboy later worked at Lindblad Travel in Westport. He and his wife traveled extensively worldwide. He was an avid Red Sox fan and he loved playing golf. He was a communicant of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church.
