Carol Anne Bochar, 69, Wappingers Falls Resident
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Wappingers Falls resident Carol Anne Bochar died on Wednesday, Jan. 13. She was 69.
She was born in England on May 17, 1946 to Joseph and Norma Arkless Petruzziello.
She Bochar went on to Barbizon Beauty School after graduating high school. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Tips to Toes, in Wappingers Falls, for over 20 years.
In her free time she enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, beading and ceramics. She also loved cooking, and had a strong faith in the Lord.

FLEETWOOD, N.Y. -- Fleetwood resident Patricia (McCauley) Riley died on Monday, Jan. 11. She was 91.
"Her passion was her family," said the obituary information from Fred H. McGrath & Son. "Nothing made her happier than being with her children and grandchildren."
Riley is survived by her children, William, Patricia Rudnick, Kevin, Robert and Brian, and grandchildren Randy, Caroline, Nicholas, Eric, Max, Holden and Phoebe.

FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Fishkill resident Theresa “Teddy” McGann died Tuesday, Jan. 12. She was 103.
Born in the Bronx, McGann worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Met Life Insurance Co. in the Bronx.

Carmine F. Pote, 89, Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk resident Carmine F. Pote died on Thursday, Jan. 14. She was 89.
A Navy veteran of World War II, Pote was a builder of quality homes throughout Fairfield County.
He and his wife enjoyed boating and traveling the world, and he had been a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club. In his later years, he enjoyed family, friends and gardening.

Robert 'Bob' Evans, 61, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident Robert "Bob" Lewis Evans died on Tuesday, Jan. 12. He was 61.
Born in Bronxville, N.Y., Evans worked as a construction project manager for Flagler Construction in Florida, and started his own building and remodeling company in Fairfield County.
Evans was also an avid sailor, who enjoyed being out on Long Island Sound.

Norwalk Land Trust Hears From Wildlife In Crisis Co-Founder
NORWALK, Conn. -- Peter Reid, co-founder of the nonprofit Wildlife in Crisis, was the featured speaker at the Norwalk Land Trust's annual meeting on Monday, Jan. 11, at City Hall.The Weston nonprofit rehabilitates 5,000 birds and animals a year.
He told the meeting that in a densely populated state such Connecticut, habitat preservation is crucial to the survival of wildlife. “Every little bit is important,” Reid said.
