John Majancsik Sr., 79, Lifelong Southport Resident
SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- John S. Majancsik Sr. died Thursday, Jan. 7. He was 79.
Born in Bridgeport, he was a lifelong resident of Southport. Majancsik retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Fairfield Public Works Department after 40 years of service.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Ann M. (Stankey) Majancsik; son John Steven Majancsik Jr. of Maine; grandson John Stanley Majancsik of Southport; and a niece and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia Majancsik, and his in-laws, Steve and Ann Stankey.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield resident Thomas Allen Sevitski died on Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 60.
Born in Bridgeport, Sevitski served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
A continuous learner, he graduated from Norwalk Community College with a finance degree, and constantly studied his greatest passion, drawing and painting. Sevitski spent a lifetime studying and perfecting his craft, creating countless illustrations, paintings, and murals.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident Joseph F. Eggert died on Thursday, Jan. 7. He was 88.
Eggert had the opportunity to try out for the New York Yankees, and became an avid Red Sox fan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo-Ann Waring and her husband Edgar of Norwalk; son Joseph Eggert and his wife Kathleen of Bethel; grandchildren Stacey, Michele, Emerald and Jayde; great-grandchildren Lindsay, Samantha, Abigail and Clara; and many nieces and nephews.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Lifelong Stamford resident Henrietta Lucy Crocco died on Thursday, Jan. 7. She was 107.
Born in Stamford in 1908, Crocco was a textile pattern and sample maker with various companies in New York City as a young woman. Later, she worked for Bloomingdale's of Stamford as a personalized stationary specialist for 30 years.

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers resident Paul Francis Heffernan died Tuesday, Dec. 22. He was 56. Heffernan worked for many years as a heating and cooling engineer with several companies in and around Westchester.
He loved travel and enjoyed exploring exotic places around the globe, including Jamaica, Bali, Thailand and Mexico. He loved the great outdoors, hiking, camping and rafting.
