Longtime Philly Firefighter Dies On Duty, Department Says John Garrow, a longtime battalion chief with the Philadelphia Fire Department, died while on duty this week, officials say.  Garrow passed after suffering a medical emergency during his shift on Monday, Feb. 19, PFD said in a release. Firefighters Respond To Burning Home In Berks County First responders were called to the scene of a house fire in Rockland Township early on Wednesday, Feb. 21, authorities said.  It happened at 11 Essig Drive, said the Fleetwood Fire Company in a release.
