Paulette Pennacchio, 61, Of Beacon
BEACON, N.Y. -- Lifelong Beacon resident Paulette Pennacchio died Satuday, Dec. 19. She was 61.Pennacchio worked as a bookkeeper for Economy Gas for 11 years and Synergy Gas for 10.
She is survived by siblings Glenn, Michael, Bobby and his wife Vincene, Frankie and his wife Sue, Judy Crouse and her husband Dan, Marie Hiland and her husband James; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Marie DePeter Pennacchio; and her brother, Patrick Pennacchio.
Funeral arrangements are by Halvey Funeral Home. Services will be private.

Virginia Menchen, 60, Poughkeepsie Resident
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Longtime Poughkeepsie resident Virginia Claire Menchen died on Tuesday, Dec. 15. She was 60.Formerly of Yonkers, Menchen served in the New York National Guard.
She is survived by her mother, Loretta Piekarski Menchen; and her siblings Gary, William, Ralph, Valerie and Anne Marie Menchen.
She was predeceased by her father, George and a brother, Russell.

John Freeman Barden Jr., 90, Poughkeepsie Resident
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- John Freeman Barden Jr. died on Sunday, Dec. 20. He was 90.He was born in Poughkeepsie on Nov. 2, 1925,, to John F. and Gertrude Swasey Barden.
A World War II Navy veteran, Barden retired as a civil engineer for the New York State Office of General Services.
As well as being a youth football coach, Barden served as a deacon, elder, member of the session and Sunday school superintendent for the First Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Valley, N.Y.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Longtime Stamford resident Constantine Ventsias died Sunday, Dec. 20. He was 84.After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he worked for the Connecticut Light and Power Co. for over 30 years.
Ventsias enjoyed gardening and was known for his dahlias. He was very artistic and created handcrafted items.
