Eastchester Police Warn The Public About Tax Scam EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Eastchester Police Department has issued a public service announcement about scammers impersonating Internal Revenue Service employees. The PSA advises all citizens to be very skeptical of all unsolicited phone calls and emails from people claiming to be IRS employees. The police said in a news release that the scam is one of the largest ever. The police warn, “the callers are aggressive, relentless and ruthless. Cops: Hyde Park Man Among 4 Charged With Robbing Ulster Post Office HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- A Hyde Park man and three other New York men allegedly scaled an Ulster County post office counter, robbing cash and money orders Monday, Dec. 14, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports. Charged with second degree robbery were Sharmaine Chambers from Hyde Park; Shareef Goddard from Brooklyn; and Gary Salmon Jr. and Damari Edwards from Newburgh, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Kids Can Ring In The New Year Early In New Rochelle NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The sixth annual “Ring in the New Year at Noon” will take place on Dec. 31 at New Roc City, in New Rochelle. Billed as Westchester’s only daytime New Year’s event for kids, this is for 2- to 10-year-olds. It's from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., but activities continue into the afternoon.
