Dover Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection DOVER, N.Y. -- State Police charged a Dover man with violating an order of protection on Monday, according to officials.  Thomas C. Brown, Jr., 30, was allegedly trespassing on the victim's property on Dec. 29. He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt after it was learned he had been convicted once before in 2014, police said.  Brown was remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond, police said.

Sandy Hook Shooting Victims' Families Sue Newtown Over Lack Of Security FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Two families whose children were victims at Sandy Hook School in 2012 have filed suit against Newtown as well as the town's school board, citing inadequate security as one of the reasons for the shootings that left 20 children and six adults dead, according to the Hartford Courant.  The lawsuit accuses both the town and the school of failing to provide a secure environment for the children in the school, the Courant said.
