Wexler Sworn In As Probate Judge In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Lisa Wexler was sworn in as probate judge for Westport and Weston during a ceremony on Jan. 2 at Westport Town Hall.   Wexler, who was joined by approximately 20 other state and local officials, friends and family promised to serve Weston and Westport with dedication, honesty and compassion. Wexler ran unopposed in November for a full four-year term after first winning a special election in November 2013.

Scam Artists Steal Watch From New Canaan Store NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Two men managed to scam a store clerk at Jack Spade in New Canaan and made off with a watch valued at more than $300 last Wednesday, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.  The two men were in their late 20s to early 30s, police told the Advertiser. Bridgeport Begins Christmas Tree Pickups BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport roadway maintenance crews began picking up Christmas trees this and will continue through Jan. 23. Trees will be picked up on the same day as the resident’s recycling pickup day. Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb and free of all ornaments and plastic bags. Local Tree Service Caught Dumping Debris in Back of New Rochelle Schools NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- A local tree service has been dumping tons of debris at New Rochelle public schools for at least three years, according to Talk of the Sound. Piles of wood chips up to 8-feet tall and sometimes containing chemicals or insects have been dumped behind Albert Leonard Middle School and Ward Elementary School by Benny's Tree Service, Talk of the Sound said.
