Myrna Reed, 78, Wyckoff Resident
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Myrna Reed, a Wyckoff resident who most recently lived at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, died Saturday, Jan. 30. She was 78.
Born in Washington, Pa., Reed lived most of her life in Pleasant Hills, Pa., before moving to New Jersey two years ago.
Reed loved to travel and enjoyed her retirement, spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Bible study group at Cedar Crest. She attended Advent Lutheran Church in Wyckoff and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hills.

Alfonso Sabatino, 63, Fair Lawn Resident
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Alfonso Sabatino, a Fair Lawn resident and formerly of Sorrento, Italy, died Sunday, Jan. 31. He was 63.
Sabatino is survived by his wife, MaryEllen (Riley) Sabatino; children David, Steven and Alyssa Sabatino, all of Fair Lawn; siblings Palmira, Fortunata, Michelina and Caterina; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings Antonio, Frank and Angelo Fabi, of Italy.

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury resident Alyce M. Hondron died on Friday, Jan. 29. She was 87.
Born in Danbury, Hondron graduated from Danbury High School. She was a retired travel agent with the Holton Travel Agency of Danbury. Together with her sister, she enjoyed traveling the world.
Hondron adored her beloved cats and dogs. She was a dedicated member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Danbury, its choir and senior club.

Peter Gernat, 90, Bridgeport Police Sergeant
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport resident Peter Gernat died on Thursday, Jan. 28. He was 90.
Born in Bridgeport, Gernat was a lifelong area resident. A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired sergeant for the Bridgeport Police Department, with 28 years of service. After his retirement, he was a union negotiator for the AFL-CIO police union for 20 years.
Gernat was an avid New York Yankees fan, and he loved to sing, especially "God Bless America." He was fluent in English, Slavonic and Italian.
