Annual Candy-Making Workshop At Fairfield's Pequot Library
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Pequot Library will be hosting its 11th year of kids’ candy making, with a workshop Friday, Feb. 5, for kids in grades K-8.
Kids will make professional-looking chocolate treats for Valentine's Day, as well as a gift box and card.
The event is from 4-5 p.m., and there is a $5 materials fee per child. Registration is required. To register, call the library at 203-259-0346 Ext. 16.
Grade-school-aged children will need a caretakers' help.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Longtime Elmwood Park resident Violet (Gallo) De Gregorio died Friday, Jan. 29. She was 93.
A homemaker, De Gregorio was a parishioner of St. Leo's Church in Elmwood Park.

Beverly Goldberg, 87, Former Suffern Resident
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Beverly Goldberg, a West Palm Beach, Fla., resident formerly of Suffern, died Friday, Jan. 22. She was 87.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 29, at Hellman Memorial Chapels in Spring Valley. Rabbi Berkman officiated. Interment was to follow at Gary Onderdonk Veterans Cemetery, in Suffern.
Louis J. Corbo, 90, Nanuet Resident
NANUET, N.Y. -- Nanuet resident Louis J. Corbo died on Sunday, Jan. 24. He was 90.
Born in New York City, Corbo served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in World War II. He was a police officer with the N.Y. Police Department and retired as a sergeant in the Youth Squad after 30 years of service.
Corbo is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie; sons Peter Corbo and Joseph Corbo and his wife, Susanna; and grandchildren Robin Corbo, Louie Corbo and Maria McGlade.

FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Alessandro Santoro, a longtime Fishkill resident, previously of Tuckahoe, died Tuesday, Jan. 26. He was 71.
Born in Italy, Santoro was the owner and operator of Tuckahoe Florist, Crystal Home Cleaners and ACS Painting. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and a member of the Italian American Club.

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Carol Ann (Rickert) Moscatel -- a Paramus resident, formerly of Weehawken -- died on Wednesday, Jan. 27. She was 79.
Before retiring, Moscatel worked for General Motors, in New York City, as a human resources administrator. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation Church, in Paramus.
